NEW TIMBER FRAME HOUSE, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

-
Radiator circuit to first floor
-
Radiant Condensing oil boiler with EMS
-
Unvented DHW Cylinder
This Potton Heritage timber framed house was built in 2001 and features underfloor heating throughout the ground floor. The clients needs were best suited by having small neat radiators throughout the first floor rooms. After much deliberation due to the potential cost, a condensing oil boiler complete with energy management system ( EMS) was selected. The clients wanted to retire to this house and so high comfort levels and low running costs were paramount.
Being at home most of the time the heating system had to be quiet and efficient to run. With the use of the Radiant condensing boiler with EMS device both of these objectives were easily achieved. The slightly larger boiler was specified in order to cope with periodic high hot water demands.

LARGE BARN CONVERSION, LINCOLNSHIRE
These lovely old stone barns were converted into a modern family home in the late 1990’s. The totally refurbished building now has warm water underfloor heating to the entire ground floor. Although individual controls have been used to limit the temperature to some rooms, the main comfort control is achieved via an energy management system. This clever device is mounted on the boilers control panel and it controls every aspect of the heating (both underfloor and towel radiators) and hot water system.
The energy management system or EMS is a weather compensation and boiler optimisation device. This pro-active controller anticipates the likely changes to the buildings internal temperature by constantly monitoring the outside weather variations. Therefore when it begins to get colder outside the device puts more energy into the building in order to maintain the required comfort level. This precise form of control ensures a stable room temperature no matter what the weather might be.
The device also ensures that the boiler is always operating at its optimum efficiency at all times. By doing this it keeps it in the condensing mode virtually all the time.
This is a family home that is in use all the time and therefore the heating is required throughout the day. Because of this fact it was very important to have a heating system that provides good comfort at low running costs.
